Full or Random Flake floor coating systems are used in garages, commercial retail stores, aircraft hangers and more.
Full Flake floor coating means that the floor colour and texture come from a full broadcast of flakes at approximately 50 pounds per 400 sq/ft that will be installed on top of a base coat of either epoxy or polyaspartic and will receive 2 coats of polyaspartic clear on top.
Random Flake is usually installed when a smoother finish is required. We start by applying two coats of TKO 100% Solid Coloured Epoxy at approximately 20 mils. While wet, we lightly broadcast in the flake colour or colours of your choice. This process is finished off with a clear coat of polyurethane either in high gloss or in a semi gloss with anti-slip finish.
Custom colours and blends are available which gives you the ability to custom design blends to match with any colour scheme. You can choose from our signature blends or custom mix any colours to match your project!
With 100% Solid Epoxy, the sky’s the limit for custom flooring. 100% Solid Epoxy can come in any colour, shade, texture and finish, both in metallic or solid. To increase longevity, a topcoat of Urethane or Polyaspartic is recommended. With its natural self leveling properties and being 100% solids, meaning zero solvent or water to evaporate, 100% Solid Epoxy can be installed as thin or thick as you desire. For commercial applications we usually recommend a minimum 20 mil system installed in 2 coats. For residential or decorative finishes, we like to increase the thickness to a minimum 30 mil spec allowing for greater self leveling and more depth of finish for solid colour and metallic finishes.
Mechanically Polished Concrete is a sustainable, low maintenance floor option that qualifies for LEED credits. Unlike coating, polished concrete is done by diamond grinding, then polishing the surface until the desired finish is achieved.
Chemical Polished Look Concrete is another option that has a quicker turn around and is lower cost per square foot then mechanical polished concrete. Chemical polish allows for the same clean, sophisticated, raw concrete look while being cost effective, stain resistant and will last for years. As opposed to mechanical polish, a coating/and or chemical is used to create the smooth, sealed finish.
We have a full range of anti-slip finishes, from a powdered, anti-slip finish or double broadcast quartz, up to an aggressive 16 grit silica broadcast.
In addition to our standard systems, we can add traction strips at entrances, stair landings as well as on stairs. Adding an additional colour can also direct traffic and point out danger areas around equipment and edges.
Topcoats are an important addition to epoxy coatings but aren’t always needed. Polyurethane topcoats, also known as just urethane, are UV stable, have increased scratch resistance and have a higher chemical resistance. These topcoats add longevity and increase durability for your floor.
Quick turnaround required? Our fast cure polyaspartic systems allow for one day installs in a variety of colours and textures making it the perfect option where speed or a heavy duty system is required. Polyaspartic floor coatings are rapid curing allowing for light foot traffic in as little as 4 hours but are also a UV stable, flexible and high wearing coating giving you a finish that will last for years to come.
Anti slip, decorative and highly durable, Quartz floors are a great option where water and foot traffic are present. Using a double broadcast system (2 layers of quartz), quartz floors result in a highly durable finish with an anti slip texture that although is anti slip enough for heavy water, is gentle enough for bare feet. Typical installation locations include: Food production, pools, showers and change rooms, Spas, institutions or residential concrete patios or steps.
